The following documents are among those which have been adopted or recommended by the URCNA churches in common, meeting as synods. For a description of synods, please see Article 28 of our Church Order.
Each officebearer in our federation signs the Form of Subscription upon being ordained or installed into his office. The wording in the Form of Subscription was approved by Synod Hudsonville (1999).
The churches of our federation, although distinct, voluntarily display their unity by means of a Church Order, which orders our ecclesiastical relations and activities. The current edition of the Church Order is valid as of the completion of the most recent synod.
Study reports are thoughtful reports but do not have the force of the confessions or the church order. The synods of the URCNA have received the following study reports:
- Office of Deacon in the Churches: Report that Synod St. Catharines (1997) recommended to the churches for study.
- Biblical and Confessional View of Missions: Report that Synod Escondido (2001) recommended to the churches for study and implementation.
- URCNA-OPC Study Committee Report: Report that Synod Escondido (2001) referred to the churches for further study.
- Federal Vision and Justification Report that Synod London (2010) commended to the churches for study.
